Boobs support group is held on the 3rd Saturday of every month, at the Royal Chase Hotel from 11am to 1pm. There is tea, coffee, cake, support, friendship and laughter on offer at every meeting.
“I genuinely had a great day yesterday. I always say to people that this is the hardest bit, I know I didn’t have chemo, but my op and radiotherapy on the scale of things was easy, but now waking up every morning wondering if it’s going to come back, every year when you have your annual mammogram waiting for the results, that is so much harder. The group and the therapies you put on make coping so much easier, i wouldn’t be where I am mentally if it wasn’t for this, we are all so guilty of not making time for our selves but these therapies give us the opportunity to do this ………thank you”
We are a versatile and varied group of women of all ages and backgrounds. Over the years we have become more than just a support group, we have become a family.
The support group is a relaxed and informal environment, there is no pressure to talk or share your story. Sometimes just being in the company of other people who understand what you’ve been through is a great comfort.
Over the years the group has developed quite the social life. Our ladies often get together for coffee mornings, bingo nights, pub quizzes, theatre trips and even a weekend away together in Devon.
If you’re nervous about joining us for the first time, pop us a message and one of our group will be happy to chat to you beforehand. We also have a wonderful WhatsApp group chat for additional support between meetings.
“We spoke about it yesterday us BooBs ladies and said there is nothing like our group around, if you BooBs wasn’t there we would only have a number to call to talk about it, there would be no meeting others in the same situation, nobody to be so open about what we are going through. To to able to have monthly meetings to support each other is amazing but the support and days out, groups sessions like yesterday to be able to escape for a day, talk, do things you thought you would never do and the help like chemo bags, buying the things we need when we go into hospital for treatments and all the other things, get involved to help the charity be able to do all of what you do for us helps in ways you would not be able to put into words because it really does help all of us. I have said this before but I would not have been able to go through breast cancer and come out the other side the way I have if it wasn’t for BooBs and all the love and support you give is just wonderful.
