October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Now we’re coming up to halfway through this huge month, I’m sure you’ve been watching our Facebook and Instagram posts and keeping up to date with our campaign.

But we need to keep checking in and checking you’re checking your breasts. This is important, for you men too! 390 men are diagnosed with breast cancer every year. Compared to 150 woman a day, this may small but it’s just as important and potentially lifesaving.

 

Any changes, from nipple discharge you’re not expecting, and skin texture changes could also be signs. Take a look at the list below to get an idea of what to keep an eye out for.

  • Nipple discharge
  • Thickening
  • Armpit pain
  • Change on appearance of nipple
  • Visible lump
  • Skin texture change
  • Pulled in nipple
  • Skin irritation
  • Skin dimpling

So, please, take a few moments, in the shower or bath perhaps, just to feel over your breasts, get to know their current state so you can notice any changes.

Early detection can save your life so make yourself aware of your body.
